Show and Tell Monday May 1, 2011 (and Mother's Day giveaway)

Well I think this week is going to be a little Lacy as it is Mother's Day Week! (Yes , I think it should be a whole week , don't you?) First off, I received an exciting package last week that I have been waiting to share with you. It is the most beautiful apron I have ever seen! Handmade by Ms. Holly Stinnett . I wanted to show you all of the gorgeous goodies on this gal. Every part is just gorgeous. You can see more of Holly's creations here. This beaded piece is my absolute favorite part : ) !!!!!!!!!! Thank so much Holly =) Next, for a while now, I have been pondering what to do with this jar of flowers I got at Michael's. Why? I have know idea. It was a"I am going to use my 40% off coupon if it kills me moment" . LOL. I am not a scrap booker ,( I often feel a distinct sense of failure for that by the way! lol) , and usually I use almost all vintage elements . These little ladies needed "The treatment!" They couldn't just stay as they were of course . They had to acquire some rich patina, and weathering. For this I used lots of strong coffee, and then dried them in the microwave (few seconds at a time . Don't let them just go, or you could start a fire: ) . This drying method makes that wonderful staining , marbling effect. Next, came the fun part of adding lots of vintage elements! I sewed on Vintage lace, ribbon, buttons, pearls, and even a love note in a vintage jar. Adding layer after layer of vintage soft creams. Finally , I added a vintage button on the back, and added a pin back. These little 3 pins will be available on my Etsy later today. But , Guess What?
For Mother's Day, I am giving away a kit to create all 3 of these yourself! The kit will include the flowers , chain, pin back , bezel cup, buttons, glass domes, and all of the vintage elements you need to create the pins , including the vintage photos shown that are part of my personal collection. Gift wrapped from me to you :)

Just leave a comment if you would like to be entered , and I will draw the winner on Mother's Day (Sunday May 8th At midnight) I will announce the winner on next weeks Show and Tell Monday.
Also , you may want to check out the blog tour going on by Ms. Kerin Gale for her new book "Inspired Remnents Curious Dreams Mixed Media Projects in Epoxy Clay".
