Tut Update

Hi Everyone,
After being on the fence about it for a couple of days , I made the Exec decision :)
to include one more fun project in the new ebook tutorial. Because I am kind of picky , and I want it to be the best it can be for your $, and super fun.
So I am extending the sale this week so when I post the tutorial it will still be included. I am shooting for early Wednesday afternoon EST. , so I will extend the sale 24 hours after I post the Tut!
If you have come to visit the Bead Soup Blog Party,
it is partying on in the previous post.
Blessings, and have a wonderful week,

Rainy Day Doll Surprise!

A while ago ,Reagan and I had a date to sneak out to the Sunday antique flea market early.
Unfortunately, it turned out to be an  unexpected rainy day.
Pouring was more like it!
Well , we decided to spend the day creating with what we already had on hand.
Reagan and I ended up creating  what we now
call "Rainy Day Dolls" .
They are made from paper mache , with a beautiful encaustic finish.

It turned out to be an awesomely fun  rainy day !
But, now we have a surprise for you!

We have made the "Rainy Day Dolls" into a PDF downloadable
tutorial on Etsy!
The Tutorial will be available starting Sunday at 8pm eastern time!

Reagan loved making her doll!
It is also a great project for family ,
Christmas gifts,
or just to get those creative juices flowing , and have
some wonderful  messy handed fun!
We may just have an Etsy coupon code for you
to use Sunday , and Monday  if you would like the tutorial :)
(I will post the code on the blog Sunday afternoon for you)
Warning , these dolls are addicting!

Blessings to you,

New Workshops!

If you are in the Columbus Ohio area ,
my workshops are now available for registration
at "Artiscape" !
Here is the fun stuff we will be getting into ...

"A Mother's Love Pendant"

In this workshop we will be creating 2 different
methods of metal bezel making ! For the first we
will be working with beautiful vintage broken china and creating a
deep shrine bezel for our assemblage.
Next we will be creating a gorgeous  metalwork bezel
Lot's of fun metalworking and exploration.
Feel free to bring tiny elements to add to your own shrine :)

Metalwork Madonna Workshop

Come and  embark on a metal working journey !
while you create your own one-of-a-kind necklace.
Create a gorgeous hand-wrought metal cross with a beautifully adorned center bezel featuring a vintage Madonna image (feel free to bring your own photo, if desired).
You will learn to use a jeweler's saw to create shapes from sheet metal. Techniques for texturing metals, soldering, adding patinas, bezel forming, wire wrapping, metal stamping and applying protective finishes will be taught.

Supplies: BTK (Basic Tool Kit) and a small metal bench block, chasing hammer, jewelry tools (round, flat pliers and cutters), plus a cheap set of jewelry pliers that can get "gooky", optional: religious medals, beads, or any vintage trinkets
You can register for these and all of the great workshops offered

If you are not in the Mid West, not to worry!
I am working on several online workshops as we speak .
No need to load up the truck for the long haul , when
you can create in your jammies :)
More on the new workshops soon!

I came home from our trip to Marco and Sanibel islands for our 24th
anniversary , (yes 24!)
well rested , and creatively recharged.
I did have one deep disappointment when I
arrived home to find an invidual had copied
one of my workshops.
I know it happens all of the time to lots and lots
of artists. But, it hurts when you spend sooo much time
researching materials, developing methods, and have someone come in
and do that, and profit from all of your hard work.
I am moving on past it though.
Luckily, there are so many more things in my
head , and sketchbooks,
waiting to be created,
  I shouldn't waist
precious time in life
dwelling on what is done.

I will be posting some brand new metal creations for Valentines day,
on my Etsy store
Sunday Night!
Preview on blog first :)
See you then, have a wonderful weekend!

Workshop Fun!

Oh my goodness , I am not even sure where to start with all of these wonderful creations from the 3 workshops at Artiscape in Columbus Ohio !

This is going to have to be a two part post for sure , but  I am going to jump right in and start with the "Casting Call " Metal Charlottes workshop.
These ladies worked hard all afternoon ,
and all  had some gorgeous pieces to show for it in the end.
I did better about taking photos this time , but not nearly as many as I would have liked. We all get so busy creating , I forget to take out my camera at times.

Ms. beautiful  Robbie won the most ambitious beader on her gorgeous piece. I thought that I had several photos of her and her piece including a closeup , but darn they were not on my camera when I got home.
If I did not capture a photo of your piece, or you went home and changed up, added some extra bling, further adorned  , etc your pieces email me a photo and I will post it here :)

Thank you so much  Marshae, Marjorie, Cathrine, Donna Nadine, Pam, Robbie,Lydia, Barbara, Cecile, Dawn, Cynthia, Darlene,Sue , and Cathie ! (and ps: my foot is fine now lol :)
Next post up will be  the "All about the Junque Necklace workshop".

What's New?

Gypsy Junque Doll Necklace!

These little vintage ladies are adventurous and  love to travel and explore. They have collected
many treasures along the way to adorn themselves with.

Their treasures are added to gorgeous flowing recycled silk Sari ribbons.
2 of these special little ladies will be available Wednesday night at 8pm.
I will have several posts here  for you this week.
And, I think its about time for a giveaway don't you?

A Delightful Surprise! and Almost Time for Artiscape

I was a wee bit frazzled last week.
Organizing supplies for going out of town, organizing house for going out of town, organizing child for going out of town, and Easter, before going out of town LOL.
I was to the point by Friday I was doing very silly things , including forgetting what I was currently doing because I was thinking 10 steps ahead of myself ( a true caffeine whirlwind). I am sure we have all put non food items in the fridge on accident and then wondered where they were  right ????
Well , on Saturday out of the blue comes this beautifully wrapped package.....
It's not my birthday (I don't think , at this point who knows).
It is a" just because"
gift from my friend LuLu Kellog!!
I am so excited!!!!
It is a truly beautiful  creation that she made.

I love it! !!!!

And, I will treasure it dear friend.
You have no idea what perfect timing it was. It truly touched my heart.
Thank you LuLu :)

We also managed to make these cupcakes for Easter .
Can you believe Reagan let me get away with forgetting the sprinkles?
She is the Sprinkle Queen!

This week I already feel so much  better. All my notes are organized , ducks in a row, and I just have to find one of my Mom friends to do help with Reagan's "cometition hair" for the state meet Daddy is taking her to while I am gone.

Ladies will get a chance to make one of my "Junk in the Trunk" tassels at the Outsider Art Fair at Artiscape!
I am bringing gooodies, goodies, ....
and more Goodies for these yummy tassels.
You can get a strand of the etched bullet casings (shown)
or individually , and make a tassel right there at my table.
I will show you how !

Blessings to you,
