I go over all of the tools, basic set up, and explain all of the projects from start to finish in the videos.
All of my online workshops have LOTS of content to explore and create with including suggestions and lots ideas for further study and exploration .

In this workshop we are creating stunningly beautiful marbleized encaustic Christmas ornaments, with glass like finish and etched copper photo bezels.
What's in it?

Then , learn to create these beautiful encaustic painted ornaments with a special shellac burning process. And, also how to etch copper from the hardware store to create a beautiful photo bezel.
These ornaments will make stunning artistic handmade gifts for everyone on your list!
In this workshop , I supply several wonderful vintage post card images of Victorian snowmen, children etc.

Areas we will be exploring in this workshop:
We will be primarily focusing on 3 dimensional sculptures with solder
and approaching aspects of construction with solder
beading /pearling
texture
bezels
china cutting /shaping
altering and assemblage with found objects galore... and solder!
This is not an introductory course in soldering. The best place to start for a basic course is my "How to Make Beautiful Broken China Jewelry " course for all of the basics and fundamentals of beginning soldering . In this workshop I am assuming everyone has at least some basic soldering experience, although I do go over my soldering personal process, and the cutting and shaping of the china etc . Patterns are included in classroom :)
This workshop has high quality , high definition videos for you,
that are divided into easy organized labeled segments.
This means you can view whatever steps you like easily and conveniently without scrolling
through hours of video.

as it all comes together, we will be exploring

different ways to achieve wonderful interesting textures,
and Gorgeous rich, deep , patinas on both the metals and encaustics,
combined together to
create a journal worthy of antiquitous distinction !
(yes I did make that word up :)
And, who lived inside this lovely house?
I will help you discover your house's " story", as we
dive into more encaustic exploration and create the time worn pages themed for each
person that lived within it while exploring some interesting substrates.
I have never worked in encaustics is that ok?
Of course! This is an explorative journey to find out all the wounderous things that can happen when you add encaustics into the "mix" of "mixed media"
I also go over all the basics of what works best when it comes to working with encaustic mediums,
and a short version of
the very long history of the different applications of encaustics in art .
Your finished journal will tell a complete visual ,and archival, history of everyone
who lived within your house, As you include artifacts, and relics , along with written word. All
with the exciting fun of
exploring and experimenting the huge magic of possibilities of creating with encaustics to build a wonderful world of collage and assemblages . I will also be showing some creative ways of how
to
add the appearance of 100 years to some new items for" instant artifacts!"
