Introduction to Encaustic Painting

Encaustic is the exciting art of painting with molten beeswax and pigment .
Intro to encaustic a super fun completely hands on introduction of this ancient medium in a supportive environment where experimentation is strongly encouraged . Instruction includes set up, proper working temperatures, safety, both traditional and non traditional tools , and using both traditional and alternative colorants . Proper fusing , incising , transferring simple drawings onto you wax surface , mark making, adding textures , and many more techniques of this very versatile medium are explored .
