For this weeks study and create I used 4x4 cradled boards to allow for a thicker wax application, instead of paper .
These "Study and Creates" are meant to hopefully inspire a closer look at these wonderful 20th century abstract artists, and their lives, and of course as always show different approaches to encaustic painting. They are not meant to replicate in any way. Simply to show you what my own inspiration was after studying these works, and encourage you to do the same with a work that inspires you and see what magic can happen :)
Supplies I used this week:
4x4 cradled birch board
encaustic medium
White encaustic paint
black encaustic paint
india ink black and indigo
graphite pencil
graphite crayon
graphite powder
torch
