Happy Fluid Fridays Balloon Smash !

Happy Fluid Fridays !

I have been wanting to try the balloon dip, dab, smash , I have heard it called several things. I was most interested in using it as a mark making tool in the paint.

I also did this for this week's Wax on Wednesdays to see how it would transfer . For right now I will have to say it did not transfer over as well as I would have hoped . However I am leaving the experiment open ended to try again with perhaps a different approach with encaustic  later on.
The acrylic pour with the balloon on the other hand I absolutely LOVED ! It creates a lovely vein , leafy affect . I used this much more as a mark making tool than a "dip" to bring out colors.
I am super  excited about exploring these marks further with different colors etc. I was also in love with the organic look of the pour vs the balloon marks and I think that is because the marks are so subtle and soft . I don't  think bold marks and pours blend together well but this transition seemed natural and organic to me.

Have you tried the balloon smash /dip/ dab ?
Leave a comment below the video to let us know how you enjoyed doing them !
What do you like about using the balloons vs. straight pours ?

Here are the supplies I used this week :
NOTE: This week the paints were pretty high $ on Amazon . I am listing them to show the exact colors that I used. Everything else including the Floetrol was good. Check your art.com stores and local craft /art stores for better prices on that paint this week :)))

Each week I list the supplies I used in the video here on the blog for you so that you can see and easily find the items used for that week's  technique .
If you purchase items from the links provided it sometimes generates a few cents in commission  which goes right back in to creating videos for you on the youtube channel. It  does not raise the cost for you in any way, and is the same link you would find on a regular amazon prime search . Thank you ahead for you support of Wax on Wednesdays in any way ! Also , although the photos here can help you easily find the product . I also recommend that you look at your local art /hobby store to make sure you are getting the lowest price. Sometimes with weekly 40% off coupons basic items can be found at a better price.
