Wax on Wednesdays Summer Cold Wax Series 2 !
Continuing the Summer cold wax series this week !
Cold wax is very different from encaustic but you can still use all of the
same pigments and a lot of the same tools for mark making etc.
This week some beginning fun with mostly wet on wet painting in the first couple of layers.
Exploring these first few layers can be very fun with spatulas of different shapes and sizes , catalyst wedges and blades, old credit cards , etc. Each tool will spread the wax and oil differently leaving different effects.

If you are near the Cincinnati Area , I will have new work at my solo show at Art Around the Park Gallery in Fort Thomas KY June 8-10 . The show will run from 5-10 pm Fri and Sat and Sun 1-4pm.
Fort Thomas is approx 6 miles South of downtown Cincinnati and has lovely shops , beautiful picturesque Tower Park , and restaurants.
